FREE Pre-School Educational Program
Celebrates 4 Years in Taupo
HIPPY is a pre-school education program run over two years for 3 and 4 year-old children of lower-decile families. Costing some $6,000, it is available FREE to 45 local Taupo and Turangi lower-decile families, via funding from the Ministry of Education.
HIPPY creates in your 3 or 4 year-old a thirst for learning, thus providing them with a head-start from Day One at primary school. Not only in reading, numbers, shapes, etc, but also in having them able to think 'outside of the box'. This means there is a greater chance they'll eventually gain a satisfying job, and become financially free.
Spend just 15 minutes per day with your child, either reading one of the freely-supplied storybooks or encouraging them while they complete a similarly free exercise workbook. This is one of the many bonuses of HIPPY, the dedicated one-on-one 15 minutes daily with your child helps strengthen your bond with them, helping it last a lifetime if nurtured.
HIPPY in Taupo is run by local charity HIPPY Taupo Charitable Trust. The Trust employs a fully-qualified professional Coordinator, Yvonne Branch, who in turn trains tutors who visit the parents. HIPPY - Home Interaction Program For Parents and Youngsters - operates out of Tauhara Primary School (best accessed via the carpark off Crown Rd). Note the popularity of HIPPY, now in 28 countries, and 44 communities throughout Aotearoa.
In our 6th year in the Great Lake District, we have sufficient funds to support 45 local families. If your child is 3 years of age, and you want them to start school-life on a level playing-field, either ring or text Yvonne direct on 027 355 7857 or email her via Contact Yvonne for a non-obligatory chat. Don't hesitate to read even more detail about HIPPY....

"This programme has given me so much confidence as my child's first teacher. It's the ONE place each day where my child and I are one on one, connected, engaged (in activities) and feel a sense of purpose. The hassle-free resources HIPPY supply are the most valuable part of the programme. It certainly is helping both my child and I grow personally." |
